Meet The Royal Masters

"For 37 years The Royal Masters Quartet has been singing Southern Gospel Music. Having sung with several groups before, it was in 1970 that God led me to organize the 'Royal Masters'. I was in my thirties before I realized Gospel music would be a very 'BIG' part of my life. I am thankful for the good health God has given me in allowing me to keep the group going."

Buck Smith, Manager / Tenor, buck@royalmastersquartet.com

The Royal Masters want to welcome Steve Johnson to the group. Steve will be replacing Wayne singing the baritone part. Steve has been singing since 1970 and has sung with the Johnson Brothers, Praisemen, Masters Men, Pathway, Gospel Profits and New Vision. Steve remembers singing in church from a very early age and is also very well read in the Bible. He and his wife, Janice, will be an asset to the group. Steve will also be helping with some of the emcee duties during singings.

Steve Johnson, Lead Singer, steve@royalmastersquartet.com

"I was blessed to be raised in a musical family. I had sung with a church group and a quartet before meeting Buck Smith in the mid 1970's. I sang with the 'Royal Masters' two different times as obligations allowed. I have always held Buck in the highest esteem. I am thankful God once again opened the door for me to sing with The Royal Masters Quartet in January 2000."

Phil Cain, Bass, phil@royalmastersquartet.com

" Hubert Shaw, Baritone The Lord has blessed me in many ways the last 60 years. After singing with the Key Masters Quartet from 1952 until 2006, we retired the group. I thank the Lord for premitting me to sing with my brothers. In May, 2007, Buck asked me to join the Royal Masters Quartet. I have enjoyed being with this group. I want to thank the Lord for giving me the health and opportunity to continue singing for Him. I want to thank my wife, Ruth, for her contionous support. "
